After a two-week break, we came back to the Warhammer League for another game at 750 points. This week, there was a lot less to prepare for (as everything was randomized) and nearly everything changed (points costs due to Chapter Approved, Warlord/Relic rules, scenarios, terrain, and matchup decisions). As such, I went with a somewhat more traditional list (for a list of dreadnoughts anyway).

My opponent this week was playing T’au and running mostly suits – he had only five models on the table as well. During our game, we had a few people comment that our match looked more like a Warmachine match than a Warhammer match on account of our having only a few big models on the table. It worked out well though, as we really both enjoy that style of play and had a good time.
Our scenario posed something of a problem for me though, as each round the battlefield was split with a giant earthquake. In game terms, every round we had to draw a line through the area representing a fault line. Anything on that line or crossing the line took moral wounds. This was very dangerous for me as I was striving to engage my opponent in melee (trying to get across the table), while he was content to sit back and shoot at me. By the time that I did reach engagement range, I had taken a lot of damage and he was able to take me down with only a single casualty.
While this match ended in my defeat, it was still a ton of fun – I look forward to more matches like this in the future.
