I haven’t been writing quite as much lately, as I’ve been using that time to do some painting. I’ve got a longer post coming about what I’ve been working on, but since I haven’t completed my project, the post has been delayed. Check back here next week, and in the meantime, here’s a preview:

Warmahordes Painting – Week 6
For the last week of the league, I had a bit of extra time, so I decided I would paint a big model – the Death Knell, the Grymkin battle engine. Continue reading Warmahordes Painting – Week 6
Warmahordes Painting – Week 5
By this point in the league, my painting ambition was ramping up a bit. The Mad Caps unit was a bit bigger, involved some technique, and used a fuller palette of colors than the last couple of models. Here’s the result: Continue reading Warmahordes Painting – Week 5
Warmahordes Painting – Week 4
As I started to ramp back up my painting effort, I decided that the Gremlin Swarms should be next. These guys were a bit more complicated, because they are mostly small fleshy creatures, and, because they’re naked, there’s not much to contrast it with.
Picture after the jump. Continue reading Warmahordes Painting – Week 4
Warmahordes Painting – Week 3
I am totally guilty of a false start on the painting blog posts, so this one… …Came late and is finally ready to go out.
I started off the summer league well – I had plans to paint, to blog my way through it, and everything. Unfortunately, I ended up needing my normal writing time to do the design work needed to push the league forward (which was happening a bit more last minute than I would have hoped). Still, I did manage to get a model painted five out of six weeks, so I wanted to bring those to you. Continue reading Warmahordes Painting – Week 3
Warmahordes Painting – Week 1
With the arrival of summer, comes the arrival of the 2018 summer narrative league at the Rogue’s Roost. As such, I’ve decided to get the motivation together to paint, and painted The Dreamer and her phantasms from my Grymkin army. Continue reading Warmahordes Painting – Week 1
WarmaHordes Narrative League Painting 3
For the last month of the Narrative League, I primarily wanted to get more warlocks and warbeasts done, as well as get the last iteration of my character (and all his gravelings) painted. As usual, pictures after the jump: Continue reading WarmaHordes Narrative League Painting 3
Warmahordes Narrative League Painting 2
For the second month of the Narrative League, I’ve been working on painting up my Grymkin. I’ve been keeping up the pictures as I paint everything, but saving everything up for a post on the week between the second month and the final month. Be prepared for lots of pictures, just after the jump. Continue reading Warmahordes Narrative League Painting 2
Warmahordes Narrative League Painting 1
For the Narrative league that we’re running at the shop, there is also a painting component, so I have, of course, been painting up my Grymkin so that I can score the painting points. However, I’ve primarily been blogging my own narrative battle reports, so I haven’t really had the chance to post my painting accomplishments. To that end, since we have a bye week built in, I’m going to be posting pictures of all my painted models at once, right after the jump. Continue reading Warmahordes Narrative League Painting 1
A Lone Fire Warrior
A few weeks ago, one of my friends from the Rogue’s Roost gave each of the regulars at the shop one of his Tau Fire Warrior models to paint. The idea, as I interpreted it, was that when he got them all back, he would have a truly unique Fire Warrior squad (as each model would be painted differently) and have a bit of a memento from all of us.
