Warmahordes Painting – Week 4

As I started to ramp back up my painting effort, I decided that the Gremlin Swarms should be next.  These guys were a bit more complicated, because they are mostly small fleshy creatures, and, because they’re naked, there’s not much to contrast it with.

Picture after the jump.

I felt like the Gremlin Swarms turned out okay, but not my best.  I achieved my goal of having two differently colored ‘jacks harassed by the swarms, and I feel like the gears and metal bits turned out okay, but the gremlins themselves were only mediocre.  The sepia wash did do wonders for them, but, in the end, they were mostly peach.

On the other hand, I worked on my cask imps at the same time, and these turned out somewhat better.  In this case, they had a lot of things to contrast with (barrels, clothes) and so it gave the flesh a bit more tone.  Also, these were somewhat smaller and had fewer weird angles to paint, so I had some better opportunity to get the bits the color I wanted.
