I am totally guilty of a false start on the painting blog posts, so this one… …Came late and is finally ready to go out.
I started off the summer league well – I had plans to paint, to blog my way through it, and everything. Unfortunately, I ended up needing my normal writing time to do the design work needed to push the league forward (which was happening a bit more last minute than I would have hoped). Still, I did manage to get a model painted five out of six weeks, so I wanted to bring those to you.
For week three of the league, you can already see that I was running short on time, as I painted my Trapperkin – one of the smallest models in my faction:
The interesting thing about this model was actually getting the hair right. On the one hand, it was a little easier because it was black – I didn’t really have to worry about having to do multiple coats on the hair, and I knew I could do it last. On the other hand, it seemed to be everywhere, and painting the thin strands was an interesting challenge. I’ve also gotten to the point now where I actually enjoy painting tokens (having done The Wanderer’s road tokens), and his trap door token was no different, I enjoyed it as well.
