Mosaic-a-Week: Mana Cylix

In an attempt to both do more photomosaics and to post more often, I am going to try to do a different photomosaic every week. Comments will definitely help keep this going, as well as ideas for new cards to do. To avoid slowing my main page (and rss feed) to a crawl, you’ll have to click through to get the mosaic.

This week’s card is a card whose art made me go “whoa” when I first saw it, Mana Cylix.

Now, that may classify me as a nerd right off the bat, but one of the things I’ve always really enjoyed about magic is the aspect of balance. Individual cards don’t excite me that much, but Magic’s “cycles” are one of the coolest things they do in my opinion. From the moment I saw this card, I saw that it captured that aspect of balance very well, and the artistic direction made it all the more clear.
