In my bout of putting together Kingdom Death: Monster models for the game at the shop, I put together the Lion God next. Pictures after the jump. Continue reading Kingdom Death: Lion God

Kingdom Death: Manhunter
In the next lantern year for my game at the Rogue’s Roost, we’ve got a special showdown with the Manhunter. As such, he was the next model on my list to build for Kingdom Death: Monster. Pictures after the jump. Continue reading Kingdom Death: Manhunter
Rubik’s Tangle
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time lately with my V-Cube. I’ve been fairly proficient at solving the first two layers of a cube for quite some time, but the last layer was always difficult, and I would end up needing to pull out my copy of “Speedsolving the Cube” to perform those last few algorithms. I’ve finally memorized them now, and I’m taking the time to solve my cube once a day to help commit them to memory
However, every time I think of Rubik’s Cube, I think about Rubik’s lesser known, but more fun (for me) puzzle, Rubik’s Tangle. Continue reading Rubik’s Tangle
Kingdom Death: Spidicules
For my Kingdom Death campaign at the shop, we’re using Spidicules (replaces Screaming Antelope), Lion God, Dragon King, and Manhunter as our expansions. As I result, I had some assembling to do – pictures of the Spidicules after the jump. Continue reading Kingdom Death: Spidicules
StarCraft II Thoughts
A while back I picked up StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. I’ve been waiting for this game for quite a while, as I’ve been a fan of Starcraft for a long time (I started playing it back when I was in high school), and I’ve always been a dedicated Protoss player. Also, the thing that I always enjoyed most was the story-driven campaign play – that is the reason that I keep buying these games – to continue experiencing the story. Continue reading StarCraft II Thoughts
Warmachine and Hordes New Editions
Last week, Privateer Press announced new editions of their Warmachine and Hordes game lines with a fair amount of fanfare. While there hasn’t been a lot of information out yet, I am pretty excited by what I have heard, so I wanted to take a moment to post my early thoughts. Continue reading Warmachine and Hordes New Editions
Weyland: Constructing Real Space
I’ve been playing a new Weyland deck recently, based around the identity “Because We Built It” and Weyland’s nice selection of advancaeble ICE – of course including Orion, Wormhole, and Nebula (why not Asteroid Belt? Stay tuned). The goal behind the deck was to play around with Constellation Protocol and use the counters on the cost-reduction ICE after they’ve been rezzed to make the other advanceable ICE more powerful.
Decklist after the jump. Continue reading Weyland: Constructing Real Space
Kingdom Death: Monster Models
I recently finished putting together all the base-game monsters and the knight expansion monsters for Kingdom Death: Monster. They’re not painted yet, but there are pictures after the jump. Continue reading Kingdom Death: Monster Models
Kingdom Death: Monster
I’ve been playing a fair bit of Kingdom Death: Monster the last few days, and I expect to embark on a second campaign soon. I pre-ordered this game as one of the Black Friday specials after the kickstarter was over (I wasn’t even on kickstarter at the time it was), and I got all the goodies. I’ve already talked a bit about the miniatures, but, here, I want to talk about the quality of the other components and the gameplay. Continue reading Kingdom Death: Monster
A Comparison by Plastic
I’ve built a lot of different models from a lot of different materials since I started playing Warhammer many years ago. However, the models I enjoy assembling most are plastics. Putting together my most recent Kingdom Death model reminded me that a good plastic model is fun to build, regardless of how complex it is. I realize that a poorly done plastic model can be just as frustrating as any other medium, but I feel like the industry has figure this one out, because it has been quite some time since I’ve run into a plastic model that didn’t go together well.
I wanted to go through the various creators of plastic models and briefly touch on how they make their models fun to put together (in reverse chronological order). Continue reading A Comparison by Plastic
