As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a big fan of Magic’s cycles. I’m also a huge fan of Ravnica – it was the block that I started playing Magic in the second time, and I really liked all the pieces that went into it. Because of this, I decided to double-up on mosaics for this particular cycle of Ravnica goodness and do a mosaic from the new set and a mosaic from the old set – Azorius Keyrune and Azorius Signet.
With my new mosaic program done, I decided that it was time to restart my Mosaic-a-Week. Stay tuned each Monday for a new image mosaic of a magic card. To kick it all off, I couldn’t resist doing a card that should be recognizable to anyone who has been in my house – Arcanis the Omnipotent.
I’ve been reading up a bit about the new Magic rules changes (thanks XIV!), and noticed that a favorite of mine got mention, but no new errata: Braid of Fire.
I grabbed the idea for today’s image from Wizards own site. I’ll admit, I grabbed it purely on the artwork (and the fact that Jessa said I should), it’s Naya Battlemage.
It might have occurred to you that I have a bit of a weakness for dragons. Especially dragon artwork, which is one reason that I have a lot of dragon mosaics. Today’s mosaic was one I put together when it first came out, but was recently suggested to me by a friend; so, I regenerated it – Intet, the Dreamer.
Last week I said I would have to wait for my mana, but this week I want it right now! One of the most iconic images in all of magic, It’s actually surprising it’s not the card back – it’s Black Lotus!
Ok, so I may be a day late and a mana short, but I’m not too worried because I have today’s card in the out-of-the-game area. With no casting cost and suspend, the only thing we need is a bit more time… …It’s Lotus Bloom!
Today’s wizard comes from XIV’s EDH deck. He’s a flying contortionist and has his blue brains splattered all over the sky, that’s right, it’s Zur the Enchanter.
