Lately Stetson and I have been taking every other week to put some paint on our respective Warmachine armies. Since the Juggernaut seems like the epitome of Khador ‘jack design, I’ve decided to start there. I tried a variety of different color schemes before deciding to go with something close to the traditional colors. Pictures after the jump.

Wolf Riders in the Sky
As you might of guessed, this post heralds that I got nothing done on Leman Russ over the past week. Well, actually, I’ve been so busy I haven’t gotten much of anything done over the past week, so, here’s something I got done a while back, but haven’t had time to post – my full Thunderwolf Cavalry squad!
Forging a Primarch: Part 3 – Creating an Icon
My goal for Leman Russ this week was to add some (space) wolf iconography to the model. I added a handful of wolf tail talismans, a flag (thanks for the suggestion Ian) and some of the other bits that came in the space wolves box. Pictures after the jump.

Looks like it’s time for round two, eh captain?
On Thursday, Stetson and played another game of Warmachine. We knew a bit more of the rules this time, and much fun was had. This time, Karchev the Terrible would carry me through to the end, but it was anything but a sure bet. Details after the jump.

Warmachine Waylay
I’ve been interested in Warmachine for a while now, but I’ve finally gotten around to buying the rulebook and a small army recently – thanks in part to thinking about using some models for Leeman Russ and his guard, and because (as I would come to find out) Stetson actually plays. So, yesterday, Stetson and I organized a small battle…
Forging a Primarch: Part 2 – And I’ll Form the Head!
As I mentioned last time, the head for Leeman Russ was going to take a bit more work and have more wolf-like qualities. Today, I finally got all the filing done to make it fit together. Pictures after the jump.

Riding the (Thunder)wolf
My second major modification project is to build a thunderwolf cavalry model. The thunderwolf cavalry is a new unit introduced in the Space Wolves codex, but Games Workshop currently has no plans (as far as I am aware) to release models for them. There are a handful of ideas on how to make them floating around the web, and, after looking a fair number of them over, I decided I would make an attempt at building my own.
Forging a Primarch: Part 1 – You Gotta Start Somewhere
Some time ago, I was inspired to make a primarch model for Leeman Russ – Primarch of the Space Wolves. While it had come up from time to time, I didn’t really know what I would do for it until I found a nifty figure in a box of random models Sally received from one of the guys at her shop.

A Hole in the Sun
I finished the Novella A Hole in the Sun by Roger MacBride Allen today. It appeared in the April 1987 edition of Analog, which I picked up while I was at MileHiCon the weekend before last. The other stories in the magazine were definitely fun to read, but I wanted to comment on this one because it struck me a little closer than the others. Spoilers below.
The Watch Paradox
I was recently listening to “All We Have Is Now” by Flaming Lips and realized there’s something peculiar about the idea of someone time traveling with a watch. This, in turn, lead me to the following thought experiment: Suppose you had a watch that perfectly recorded the passage of time (hours, days, years, etc.) to whatever precision you wanted. You then travel back in time and give the watch to yourself in the past. Regardless of the fact that the watch itself has no origin, what time does it read?
