Bjorn the Fell-Handed

I’ve been getting a bit of painting done, but I needed to take a break from Leeman Russ’s guard. 5-6 hours per model was a bit much, so I decided to paint Bjorn the Fell-Handed instead.

I decided to go with a lot more bronze in painting Bjorn, primarily because I wanted it look a little older than the silver and gunmetal that I used on other models. I also like that it added a bit of color to the model that I was afraid might be lacking with so much shadow grey.

Alright, here’s some pictures:

Overall, I’m happy with how it turned out, though there are a couple of things that bother me. The silver border on the banner tried to take over, and it was a bit harder than I expected to keep in line. Also, the blue on the plasma cannon didn’t stand out very well against the shadow grey, but I hope it still gets the point across.

On the other hand, I really like how the bronze looks. The coppery look gives it tubing the classical look that I was shooting for, and is not as bright as the gold. Though, I did put gold on his metals – Bjorn won’t have to settle for the bronze! I also think that the knee pads with the wolf skulls turned out better than expected, though I may have a little bit of work left on the eyes (they need shadows).

Other comments are, of course, welcome, so let me know what you think!
