I’ve been interested in Warmachine for a while now, but I’ve finally gotten around to buying the rulebook and a small army recently – thanks in part to thinking about using some models for Leeman Russ and his guard, and because (as I would come to find out) Stetson actually plays. So, yesterday, Stetson and I organized a small battle…

…Not surprisingly, I lost, but it was a good battle all the way around and good fun was had. Here’s some army pictures:

The main catch that was problematic for this game was learning all the rules. They just released a new edition, and while I had never played before, Stetson didn’t know many of the nuances in the new edition. This meant that there was a lot of fumbling over rules, and generally screwing more than a few things up. But, in the end, it was fun, so that’s what matters, and next time we’ll know more of the rules.
