Warmachine Journeyman – Week 11

Week 11 is the last of the escalation weeks, so my list has reached its final form.  I’m a point short of the full 75 points, and I was really wishing I had about 4 more points to round out my Ghordson ‘jacks, but the artillery did look like it would fit into my list the best.

VS

After some effective shit-talking ahead of the match, we had another big guns brawl.  The game started out as expected – lots of running, but in the next couple of turns, we started to see shots fired.  As Garrett moved toward my jacks, I worked to keep everything out of charge range and shooting, while my artillery moved toward the objective to try to get in some damage.  I was able to grind out the Decimator and Juggernaut before I ran out of room and it was time to engage at which point I hit the Grolar and Behemoth with everything I had.  The Behemoth really wanted to hold on, and I ended up having to disengage gun-bunnies (taking a free strike from the Behemoth – ouch!) to take a shot and finally bring him down.  On the counter-charge, Garrett was able to bring down my Siege Crawler, and then Karchev was brought down by his own Devastator and Berserker!

Like our last game, this was another great game of grinding through warjacks.  I didn’t engage in melee, and instead did more hit-and-run, which worked…  …But I missed the brawling.  I guess I’ll have to make sure that I do that more in my next list.  In either case, I’ve got one win going in to the final week of the tournament!
