Weyland: Constructing Real Space

I’ve been playing  a new Weyland deck recently, based around the identity “Because We Built It” and Weyland’s nice selection of advancaeble ICE – of course including Orion, Wormhole, and Nebula (why not Asteroid Belt?  Stay tuned).  The goal behind the deck was to play around with Constellation Protocol and use the counters on the cost-reduction ICE after they’ve been rezzed to make the other advanceable ICE more powerful.

Decklist after the jump.

While I haven’t won with this deck yet, I have been enjoying it. Unfortunately, it’s a bit slow – it uses it’s clicks for advancing ICE and making its servers as impregnable as possible (really, as expensive as possible for the runner). In my last match with Stetson, he nearly went through his deck twice (with Levy AR Lab Access) before finally getting what he needed to score the last agenda. He also ended up burying all of my money cards at the bottom of the deck, but this deck still functioned with very few credits, which is saying something.

I didn’t initially include Asteroid Belt, as I already had a selection of barriers with Ice Wall, Fire Wall, and Hadrian’s Wall, all of which can get better with time; though I am giving it a second thought as a barrier for when I’m strapped for credits.  Also, while I love Tyrant, I still don’t think I’ll be able to add it to this deck.  I’ve been considering Matrix Analyzer to exchange credits for clicks (even though I don’t need the tag), as that could help speed things up, but the deck may need an econ boost to make it worth it.  Depending on how I want to evolve the deck, I’ve considered shifting to Gagarin Deep Space at the cost of needing a bit more economy to ensure it functions – this adds to the runner tax, at the expense of what is essentially a credit almost every turn (because, let’s face it, you’ll always have ice to advance).

I am probably going to tune it a bit based on some new cards from the Mumbad cycle, and keep playing it for a little while longer (until some other cool thing comes up that I want to try).
